Party On With Asta

I couldn’t let the year end without introducing you to “Want You to Know,” the perfect NYE party pop banger from Tassie artist Asta. This is the ideal track for your night, with its upbeat vibes and disco groove. Add in her sublime vocals and this track has everything you need for tonight and any other celebrations. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ll be busting it out in my bedroom, no occasion required!

Asta said “Want You to Know” came about “after listening and dancing to Mark Ronson tracks all day in the studio with Yeo and good friend Janeva. I just love working with people who bring a good vibe to the room and, oh yeah, they gotta dance well too! It was really just about a certain booty call, but he lived very, very far away which drove me crazy.”

Make sure you add “Want You to Know” to your NYE party playlists!

Asta Gets Us Pumped For the Weekend With Dance-Pop Gem

The weekend is finally here! To put you in the mood, wrap your ears around the delightful dance-pop stylings of “Doin’ What You Want,” the latest track from Asta.

“Doin’ What You Want is about never giving up. It’s about acceptance also and being the person you were born to be, never being afraid of your identity and sexuality because they are what make us who we are,” Asta explained. “Screw judgment and fear, just keep doing what you’re doing, the universe has got your back.”

“Doin’ What You Want” is the latest track lifted from Asta’s Shine EP, which is out now.

Asta Embraces Inner Diva with “Dynamite”

Triple J Hugh School Unearthed graduate Asta is moving up to the big leagues with the release of her new single “Dynamite.”

It’s ridiculously catchy, which should come as no surprise because it was co-written by Andrew Klippel who had a hand in hits from Human Nature, Euphoria, and Lash back in the day. Andrew also worked with Chaka Khan and Earth Wind & Fire, which explains the single’s disco diva vibe.

That 80s soul influence is tempered by guest rapping from Allday. It’s an unlikely pairing, but one that works brilliantly here.

You can find out more about what Asta’s all about when she launches “Dynamite” at the following shows.

26 March 2015 – Tasmanian International Arts Festival Spiegeltent, Hobart
27 March 2015 – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
