Bloods Deliver All The “Feelings”

Bloods’ new single “Feelings” is a grungy punk-pop charmer. With all the appeal of a track from ‘90s icons like Juliana Hatfield and Veruca Salt, “Feelings” is sure to please the Sydney band’s growing fanbase.

“Feelings” is the title track from Bloods’ forthcoming sophomore album, which gets a worldwide release on August 17.

“It’s felt like such a huge feat to get this album done,” MC explained. “We faced so many challenges along the way, including writer’s block and running out of money. I went through a pretty debilitating break-up and Sweetie moved to Melbourne. Sometimes it felt like this album would never be finished! I think so many of these things ended up influencing what shaped Feelings. There are some deeply personal songs on this record, something that is very new to Bloods. When we listened to the finished album, I said to Dirk ‘there are so many feelings on this record, we should call it Feelings’. So we did.”

Keep your ear to the ground, because Bloods promise to tour the album in September.

Bloods Delivers Edgy Take on Love with “Bring My Walls Down”

Songs that romance sentimentality can easily become schmaltzy and sugary sweet. But Bloods manages to get the mix just right with its brand new single “Bring My Walls Down.”

This is a killer pop-punk cut, with an infectious melody and a little fuzzy edge. But its lyrics are vulnerable and romantic. The Sydney band’s lead vocalist MC says the track “looks at love as a disease, a kind of infection that infests your mind and body without you having any control over it; something that breaks through uninvited and reminds you that you’re an animal.”

“Bring My Walls Down” is the first cut from Bloods’ forthcoming sophomore album.

Bloods Give Unreleased Track Away

Bloods are in a party mood after joining the birthday celebrations for two of Sydney’s favourite venues. They’ll celebrate the anniversary of Oxford Arts Factory on September 15 and play at the party for the Goodgod Small Club on September 29.

Whether you can celebrate with the band or not, you can still enjoy a little present. The punk trio is offering a free download of a special unreleased track “Turn Blue” through their Bandcamp page this month.

The frenetic one-minute song has become a fan favourite, as it signals that a Bloods show is about to begin! Remarkably this recording, produced by their pal Owen Penglis, has all of the energy of the live takes. What do you think?
