Camp Cope Release Stand-Out Album Title Track

I’m working on a Saturday. On a long weekend nonetheless. Despite resolving to get better work-life balance this year. It’s frustrating that after working myself into the ground last year, taking Friday afternoon and tomorrow off seems like some kind of balance. Also, my air-conditioner is broken so my husband and I are fighting over possession of the tower fan. Anyway, long story short hearing the new Camp Cope track “How to Socialise & Make Friends” is just what I needed right now.

I love the heart of this band. They’re so good at speaking of life’s frustrations, yet expressing hope and defiance at it all. This track was recorded in just three takes, which gives it this delicious spontaneous energy.

“How to Socialise & Make Friends” is the title track from Camp Cope’s forthcoming album, due March 2. They’ll tour the album after its release, but if you haven’t got your tickets, good luck. Many shows are already sold out, and the rest are selling fast!

Camp Cope Bust Glass Ceiling With Opera House Video for “The Opener”

After selling out two shows as part of Vivid LIVE, Melbourne’s Camp Cope returned to the Sydney Opera House to film the music video for their searing new single “The Opener.” The track is a passionate critique of the band’s experiences of being women trying to make their mark on the music industry.

Camp Cope continues to break down barriers, not just for their social commentary but also for their achievements. In filming their new clip they became the first punk band and first band with only female members to film a music video at the Sydney Opera House.

Camp Cope are touring the country in March to support the March 2 release of their album How to Socialise & Make Friends. With America’s Chastity Belt in support, tickets are selling fast. Limited tickets are still available for most shows, so get yours from your closest venue soon.

Georgia Maq and Bec Stevens Set to Tour Together

Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq and Bec Stevens, two of the country’s best young female talents, are joining forces for a short East Coast capitals tour kicking off next week.

The twosome has bonded over music, of course, but a shared love of vegan cheese toasties and The X-Files cemented their friendship. Separately, they’re both superb musicians. But put them together and you can expect some incredible harmonies and a lot of laughs, as this video shows.

Join in on the fun at the following shows.

30 March 2017 – Crowbar, Brisbane
31 March 2017 – The Record Crate, Sydney
2 April 2017 – The Rev, Melbourne

Camp Cope Tour Debut Album

With their self-titled debut currently in stores and an album launch tour on the way, there’s no better time to discover the music of Camp Cope.

This Melbourne act is everything punk music should be: angry, opinionated, with an authentic voice an Aussie listening audience can really relate to. It’s also so refreshing to hear a female voice; the fairer sex is certainly underrepresented in the genre.

You can hear all the things I love about the band in the album’s lead single, “Jet Fuel Can’t Melt Steel Beams.” Make sure you tune in to the insightful lyrics; they’re so important.

Tickets for the Melbourne show are available from the hotel; all others you can get on the door before the gigs.
