Moving Pictures Celebrate 40th Anniversary of “What About Me”

Some singles date quickly, sounded like yesterday’s news shortly after you hear them. And then there are the songs that endure, that continue to touch the heart and encourage us all to sing along decades after their release. “What About Me” is one of those songs.

This year marks the 40-year anniversary of Moving Pictures’ breakthrough single. It spent six weeks at number one in Australia and even cracked the top 30 in the United States. And of course it gained a new legion of fans when Shannon Noll covered in on Australian Idol. That single went four times platinum and sold more than any other Nollsy track ever has. Such is the power of this song.

Moving Pictures will mark the anniversary with shows in New South Wales and Victoria. These are the only gigs the band will play this year, so if you love them don’t miss out on tickets.
