Fall For The Buckleys’ Latest Single, “Oops I Love You”

Country-pop sibling trio The Buckleys are spreading sunshine with their charming new single, “Oops I Love You”. Recorded in Nashville’s legendary East Iris Studios earlier this year, this track delivers two-and-a-half minutes of pure joy.

“Interestingly, this song started out on bass,” explained vocalist Sarah Buckley. “I was jamming with our youngest brother Dylan on drums just for fun and I started playing this bassline which you hear in the song. We kept jamming and when I brought it to Lachlan and Molly as just a bass and drum groove, they loved the direction, so we all started playing around with some ideas and the melodies started to take form.”

“Oops I Love You” comes from The Buckleys forthcoming EP Take It As It Comes. Set to drop on August 5, the release showcases the songs they laid down in Nashville with producer Chad Carlson, known for his work with Taylor Swift, Lady A, and Trisha Yearwood. The trio hope that releasing this new music will open a new chapter in their careers.

“It feels like a natural evolution from where we left things off with Daydream in 2020,” said keyboardist Molly.

Lachlan, the band’s guitarist, added “We’ve all grown a lot as individuals, songwriters, musicians and together as a band since recording our debut album. We are experiencing a new chapter in our lives, which you hear in the music.”

“We really want to get out on the road, play as much as we can, meet as many people as we can and soak in all the experiences,” Sarah confirmed.

The Buckleys will play the Fresh Country Festival at the NightQuarter on the Sunshine Coast on June 18.

The Buckleys Release Nostalgic Throwback Single, “Woodstock 69”

The Buckleys have got me feeling nostalgic with their latest single “Woodstock69.” With the world still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, this song perfectly encapsulates the way many of us are longing for a simpler time. The band namechecks Joni Mitchell and references the barefoot hippies, creating a beautiful picture of the Summer of Love. I remember loving this song when the band released their album, and I’m now remembering all the reasons why with the single release. And of course, it’s also made me nostalgic for those big rock shows and the sense of community I always find there.

“Beyond Woodstock, this song is reminiscent of the times we all stood in packed crowds, singing songs, holding the hands of strangers, and dancing together,” the band said in their press release. “It’s a song that embodies the excitement we have for when we all get to do this again. This is our love letter to live music and the impact Live Music has had on all of our lives.”

The song comes with a beautiful music video which was directed by the band’s youngest member, Molly Buckley. She shot the video on location at Chris Murphy’s Ballina property, Sugar Beach Ranch. I think you’ll agree it makes the perfect Laurel Canyon stand-in!

Those big live shows might be a little way off yet, but in the meantime, you can catch The Buckleys sharing all their favourite cover versions in virtual shows from their home studio, Soulfood Studios. Check out the Soulfood Sessions on The Buckleys’ YouTube channel.

The Buckleys Strike Gold With “Money”

Byron Bay siblings The Buckleys have got me grooving with their feelgood new single “Money.” This is a fabulous slice of country-pop, infectious and accessible from the first listen.

The song’s actually been around for a little while, after featuring on the band’s debut album Daydream. American Songwriter actually named it among its top 20 songs of 2020. However, a new remix by Charlie Holmes has made the track feel brand new.

Daydream will soon get a new lease on life too. Look out for the deluxe version hitting stores shortly. And if you’re in Brisbane, check them out supporting Casey Barnes at Hamilton Hotel on February 12.

Family Band The Buckleys Releases New Single “Run”

There’s something so special about a family band. The way their voices and instruments combine is unbelievable. It’s like they were made to play together. Australia’s latest is The Buckleys, a country-pop trio from New South Wales’ Northern Rivers who’ve just released their new single “Run.”

The track is one of the sweetest country-pop songs I’ve heard in some time. It’s got such charm and optimism, as well it should considering these guys aren’t even old enough to drink or vote. Singer and guitarist Sarah Grace is 17, the electric and slide guitarist Lachlan is 16, and little sister Molly on vocals and mandolin is just 14. Perhaps it’s not surprising they’re so gifted though, because their dad used to be the drummer in the Radiators!

With such talent at such a tender age, expect to hear big things from The Buckleys.

The Buckleys are Incredible Over Achievers

I watched the excellent Irish movie Sing Street on the weekend. It tickled my funny bone, moved me as I haven’t been moved by a film in years, and also made me feel woefully inadequate. The kids in the movie are a fraction of my age yet capable of making the kind of music I can only dream of. Those feelings of inadequacy are creeping in again now that I’ve discovered The Buckleys.

The Buckleys are three siblings: 17-year-old Sarah Grace Buckley on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, 15-year-old Lachlan Buckley on bass and electric guitars, and 14-year-old Molly Buckley on vocals and mandolin. Their most recent single “Would You Like to Dance” is amazing. They’ve worked a who’s who of songwriters in Nashville, and they’ve signed an international deal with Aussie label Golden Robot Records. They’re returning to the US next week to meet with publishing and management companies in Nashville. While they’re there, they’ll play Music City Roots in Franklin, Tennessee on December 14. Seriously, could they cram any more accomplishments into their young lives?

Before they go, the Buckleys will play the Mullum Music Festival in Mullimbimby on Saturday, November 19. Get on board now, because these guys are going to be big.
