Ryan Edmond Sings of New Home in “Stockholm”

Australian-born singer-songwriter Ryan Edmond sings of his experiences making a new life in Sweden in his gorgeous new single “Stockholm.” I love its delicate folky feel and Ryan’s beautiful vocals.

“’Stockholm’ is about the similarities and differences of living in two different parts of the world. From the beaches and relaxed vibes of Australia to the mountains, forests and historical architecture of Sweden,” he explained. “I want people to be able to interpret the song in their own way although for me ‘Stockholm’ is also about being in a relationship with someone from another country and the beauty of being able to live in different cities and countries but also about the challenges that come up. Such as trying to find a place that feels like home for both of you.”

Ryan is coming home for a string of shows to support the single in the New Year, including some supporting slots with Tijuana Cartel. Catch him at the following venues while you can!

Add in some impressive local seafood and top-notch craft beer and you’ve got a great recipe for a day out. Last year 2,000 people turned out so event organisers have upgraded the space to hold 3,000. You can expect it to sell out, so don’t delay getting your tickets.

It all happens outside The Wharf Tavern in Mooloolaba on Saturday June 10. Tickets are on sale now through Moshtix.

Tijuana Cartel Play Local Before International Shows

Tijuana Cartel are celebrating the release of ”Offer Yourself,” their first single of 2012, with a month long tour.

It’s a far cry from the three-month mission they embarked on late last year, but it should see the Gold Coast act fresh faced as they stop in on capital cities and regional centres.

It’s also the perfect warm up to pending international dates, which include a slot at America’s acclaimed Burning Man Festival and Germany’s Fusion Festival.

See Tijuana Cartel off in style at the following shows:

18 May 2012 – Soundlounge, Currumbin

Tijuana Cartel Tour “Letting It Go” Single

Tijuana Cartel are having one last hurrah before locking themselves in a secluded Nimbin homestead to record their brand new album. And what better way to do it than visiting their loyal fans?

Tijuana Cartel will play shows along the east coast in June and July to support their new single “Letting it Go,” which comes from that as-yet-unrecorded album. It’s an addictive blend of electro pop and Tijuana Cartel’s trademark grooves, an upbeat wrapper with a bittersweet center. Songs about dying romance have never sounded quite this positive!

The tour is your last chance to see Tijuana Cartel before they launch the new recording in September, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!
