I had a massive response when I featured Barry Southgate’s debut single “Don’t You Think” here a few months ago. So I figured it was about time that I updated you on what Barry’s been up to.
It’s been a big couple of months for the former Australian Idol finalist. He recently took the stage in Sydney with Diafrix to support British rapper Tinie Tempah, and got the attention of music critics in Australia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States and even Morocco!
The timing of all this attention couldn’t be more perfect, with Barry preparing to release his debut EP Epitome later this month. After being blown away with “Don’t You Think,” I can’t wait to hear the rest!

Hi my name is shay, short for sherina. I love the sound that Barry has introuduced to the world. He has such a diverse infusion of all different types of sounds. When he first began in New breed, I didn’t notice him much. I thought that he was just another member coming onto the team that had similar qualities like the other new breed members. To my surprise, I was wrong. Barry is really unique and talented and he brings a lot to the table. He’s also very handsome. (Invisalign makes his teeth look so perfect! lol) I hope and pray that he stays grounded in Christ so that he can be a witness to many. The industry has effected so many artists very negatively that many of them have fallen into diverse temptations such as bad business deals, witchcraft, homosexuality, and other abominations. My prayer is that Barry remains rooted in truth so that he can resist the wiles of the enemy. I also notice that he has a wonderful transition from his native accent into American accent. From the sound of his singing voice, you would never know that he’s from another country!
