Abbey Lane Drops “Bigger Man” Ahead of EP Release

Shifting gears from a couple of weeks holidaying around Japan to the nine-to-five grind isn’t easy. There are inboxes to clear, responsibilities to catch up on, and a whole lot of noise in my brain. It takes something special to cut through, but I found it in “Bigger Man,” the latest track from Abbey Lane. This fabulous indie-rock single has heightened my anticipation for her forthcoming EP, which drops on September 25.

This single is actually an amalgamation of a bunch of scrapped songs Abbey penned over the years. She’s taken the best bits and created a cohesive anthem for anyone who’s ever decided to move on from a relationship rather than change to fit it. Her voice is so compelling and I know the drum rhythms will have you tapping your toes along to the beat.

Ahead of her EP release, Abbey will support Maddy Jane at Waywards Ballroom in Eora/Sydney on September 20, so consider your Saturday plans sorted.

Abbey Lane Drops Nostalgic Pop Single “Younger”

Hit the volume on Abbey Lane’s joyous new single, “Younger.” This nostalgic indie-pop tunes captures the carefree vibes of youth, when our greatest responsibilities were being a good friend and figuring ourselves out. Abbey wrote the song during her first solo travels in a van, an experience which helped her feel a little more connected to her younger self.

“Younger is all about embracing your youth and searching for new experiences,” Abbey explained. “It’s a track about trying to discover yourself; wanting to make new connections, travel and see new things.”

Coming hot on the heels of “Baby Steps,” this is another fantastic track from Abbey. Her Facebook page reveals she’s been in the recording studio, so she should have more to share with us really soon.

Abbey Lane Celebrates Life’s Little Wins With “Baby Steps”

I think most of us need a little pick-me-up on Mondays. Enter Abbey Lane with her beautiful new single “Baby Steps.” This gorgeous folky-pop number celebrates the small wins and small joys. I know it can be challenging to see them, but this song reminds us that they’re always there.

“It can be hard to motivate yourself to do things to better yourself, so this track is all about making small changes to feeling better and acknowledging that you’re making progress one small step at a time,” Abbey explained.

The only thing that might make you feel better than listening to this song is seeing Abbey live. Fans in New South Wales will get the opportunity when she plays the following shows in the coming weeks:

25 April 2025 – The Vicar, Dooral Dooral/Dural
4 May 2025 – Pepe’s on the Beach, Woolyungah/Wollongong

Abbey Lane Releases Fantastic New Single, “Just a Little”

Hit that volume and enjoy Abbey Lane’s awesome new pop-rock single, “Just a Little”. This fabulous single has a nostalgic sound that perfectly marries with its insightful lyrics exploring bad timings, lost love, and self-reflection.

Abbey co-wrote “Just a Little” with New Wave Records’ Hayden Marie who also produced, mixed and mastered the single. The two creatives worked across different states, sending demos back and forth.

“Hayden had sent me the bare bones of the track originally and allowed me creative freedom to write my own parts to it,” Abbey explained. “We both vibed what the other was creating, so it made for a very easy creation process, sending each other logic sessions and demos until we reached our final recorded version.”

She said she wrote the lyrics “based on a friend’s relationship experience before the song took on a story of its own. Overall, it’s a narrative about having someone in your past who you can’t seem to separate from, and although you’ve both tried to move on, that in the end you’re still drawn to them.”

The release of “Just a Little” ushers in a new era for Abbey’s music following the release of her debut EP Afterthoughts in June. If you live in New South Wales, make sure to see Abbey play “Just a Little” and other fantastic tracks at one of her upcoming shows:

Abbey Lane Rocks Out With “State of Mind”

With more than a decade of industry experience, Abbey Lane is a seasoned pro. However, I think her recent releases are her best yet. Tracks like her latest single “State of Mind” show an artist brimming with self-confidence creating her own brand of indie pop-rock. It’s fierce and so much fun.

“’State of Mind’ is a letter of all the things you never got to say to someone,” she admitted. “It’s the story of falling in love with someone, and the pain of falling out of touch with them.”

“State of Mind” comes from Abbey’s forthcoming debut EP Afterthoughts, which will drop on June 12. She’ll launch the EP at 3 Wise Monkeys in Eora/Sydney on June 14 and play TBH Fridays at Towradgi Hotel in Woolyungah/Wollongong on July 19. Entry for that one is free, so if you’re in the area there’s no excuse for staying home!
