Alanis Morissette is Coming Back to Australia!

Alanis Morissette hasn’t toured this country for 18 years. Back then I was 19. Money was tight, and while I saw concerts, I certainly didn’t get to see everyone that touched my heart musically. Back then I assumed I’d have other opportunities. I didn’t expect to be kept waiting quite so long.

But Alanis settled down, morphing from the angsty voice of a generation to some kind of Mother Earth figure with kids and a husband. I honestly thought I’d missed my opportunity to catch her live show.

I am as thrilled as anyone could be with the news today that she’s coming back to our shores. And won’t it be worth the wait. For starters, she’s playing acoustic shows. Be still my beating heart. She’s also playing intimate venues. Playing in just two cities, I believe she’s still got the pulling power to fill an arena. I’m glad she won’t though. January cannot come fast enough.

Alanis Morissette will bring her An Evening With Alanis Morissette shows to Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on January 23 and the ICC Sydney Theatre on January 24. Tickets go on sale on August 7.

Illy Playing Regional Australia

After lapping the capital cities several times, Illy is finally taking his music to Australia’s regional centres. His Two Degrees Regional Tour, which kicks off in August, will be his most extensive local tour to date.

Tami Neilson Heading to Australia

She’s Canadian-born, now based in Auckland, and she’s bringing her live show to Australia. Meet Tami Neilson, the powerful voice behind the new single “Holy Moses.”

“Holy Moses” is just one of the retro-inspired tracks from Tami’s killer new album Don’t Be Afraid. It effortlessly crosses genre, with soul, blues, and jazz influences combined in the best possible way. After acclaimed performances at Woman NZ, Auckland City Limits, and Nashville Americana Fest recently, Tami is in fine form.

She’ll play just three shows along the East Coast in August. Discover her before the rest of the world knows what a talent Tami is!

Sheppard Ready for Aussie Tour Ahead of UK Dates

It’s hard to believe that it’s been more than two years since hit makers Sheppard headlined an Aussie tour. However, they’re just about ready to do it all again on the back of their latest smash “Keep Me Crazy.”

This is another feelgood pop gem from the Brisbane band. Just try getting it out of your head!

Sheppard looks forward to playing for local fans in more intimate venues before heading to the United Kingdom to support Little Mix.

“Playing live is so important to us and before things get too crazy overseas, we are looking forward to playing for our fans here,” said George Sheppard. “Playing with Justin Bieber around Australia was a dream come true for us, so to get the opportunity to play to our UK fans with a band like Little Mix is yet another opportunity this year where we’ve had to pinch ourselves!”

Make sure you arrive early to catch sets from the stellar support acts No Frills Twins and Reece Mastin.

Before getting back with his Smith Street Band chums, Wil Wagner will embark on an extensive solo tour next month.

This will be Wil’s furthest reaching tour to date and one of his most gruelling, with just one day off over the space of two weeks. But touring doesn’t seem like hard work when you’re doing it with friends, so Wil has enlisted some of his best international mates to come along for the ride. America’s Laura Stevenson will play all New South Wales, Queensland, and Victorian shows, while fellow countryman Ian Graham and the UK’s Iona Cairns will play all shows.

Husky Returns With New Single and Tour

After spending a year in Berlin, Melbourne band Husky is back on our shores and back with a brand new single “Late Night Store.”

“Late Night Store” is the first track lifted from Husky’s third album, which will drop later this year. It’s got such a striking blend of guitars and keys, with a steady groove that keeps the listener engaged right to the end. I also love the poetry of the lyrics.

In a couple of days Husky will hit the road for their first national tour since 2014. If you’ve been hanging out for a Husky gig, make sure you don’t miss one of these shows.
