Teenage Joans Release Perfect Pop-Punk Track, “My Heart’s Dead!”

It’s been too long since I’ve posted some angsty female-fronted rock music. Teenage Joans always deliver that energy, and their latest single “My Heart’s Dead!” is right up there with their best. Crank this one up and sing it at the top of your lungs!

“We basically posed the question – what if Kesha made a song with Blink 182?” Teenage Joans said. “We really wanted to write a song where there are three main vocal hooks that repeat throughout the whole song and layer over each other at the end for a huge singalong that people can easily pick up at our live shows.”

Speaking of live shows, there’s a stack to come with Teenage Joans supporting Slowly Slowly all around the country before headlining their own tour. It all kicks off tonight, so be there or live with some serious regrets!

Teenage Joans Release Perfect Pop-Punk Single, “Sweet and Slow”

While many of us are dealing with chocolate hangovers, I figured it was the perfect time to introduce you to Teenage Joan’s tasty new single “Sweet and Slow.” If you love angsty female-fronted acts, this ultra-catchy pop-punk gem will be right up your alley.

“The video concept stemmed from the “Slow dancing on your rigged game show/this live audience won’t leave me alone” lyric,” explained Cahli and Tahlia. “We had this idea to do an almost SNL gone wrong type video, where we are guests on a talk show, ruining every segment with our mischief. We really wanted to lean into the 60s/70s/80s TV show aesthetic, especially reflected through the set designs and our costumes which we usually create and source with our manager, who is also super crafty.”

Teenage Joans will launch Sweet and Slow with two shows at The Tote in Naarm/Melbourne on Anzac Day. See them at the all-ages matinee at 2:30 pm or the over 18s show at 8 pm.

Teenage Joans Join Frank Turner On New Single

UK folk-punk icon Frank Turner has teamed up with our own Teenage Joans for a new rendition of his recent single “Girl From the Record Shop.” I really love what Teenage Joans have brought to this absolute banger.

“I’m beyond stoked to be collaborating with Teenage Joans – one of my favourite new(er) bands in the world,” Frank gushed. “And they really brought the fire to this, they’ve turned the lyric around and made me laugh and dance at the same time, to my own song.”

Teenage Joans were every bit as thrilled to collaborate with Frank.

“We were SO excited when Frank asked us to jump on this song,” they enthused. “It’s punk and it’s punchy, and Tahlia literally works at a record shop … it’s the perfect vibe for us!”

Crank this one up, and don’t be surprised if you don’t press play a few times!
