If you long for the glory days of Aussie pub rock, wrap your ears around “Postcards,” the latest single from Naarm/Melbourne outfit Stonetrip. This is straight-down-line rock music, no bullshit, 100% commitment.
The song doesn’t just sound like a throwback. Its lyrics are drenched in nostalgia, recalling a time before mobile phones and social media when couples relied on handwritten postcards to stay in touch when they were apart. Few acts marry such sentimentality with power chords, but Stonetrip makes it sound easy.
Stonetrip have just wrapped up a string of dates supporting Whole Lotta Rosie. Next up they’ll entertain crowds at the Australian Van Nationals in Bangarang and Wiradjuri Country/Corowa on April 4.
