On a gloomy NSW day, Tilly Fenton is bringing the sunshine with her poppy new single “I Just Wanna Kiss You.” This catchy bop captures the exhilaration and passion of a new love.
“It’s rooted in those small, in between moments where everything feels light, but there’s this quiet urgency underneath it.. like wanting to show someone you’re in it for real, before the moment slips away,” Tilly explained.
I’m here for the ‘90s-inspired music video which features some of Tilly’s nearest and dearest.
“From the beginning, I knew I wanted this video to have my friends in it, because it feels like a song I would sing and dance along to with my girlfriends on a night out,” Tilly said. “Then director Michelle Pitiris came on board to bring the concept to life even further and that is where we leant into a more narrative-free approach, capturing the carefree candid moments between my friends and I. We intertwined that with some more intimate shots that reflect the vulnerability of the song.”
In the 24 hours after “I Just Wanna Kiss You” debuted on Home & Hosed, the triple j textline received more than 800 texts about the single. People love it, so it might just be the one to put this Naarm/Melbourne-based talent on the map.
