Oliver Cronin Releases Long-Distance Love Song, “7500 Miles”

As someone who lived through a long-distance relationship while dating my now-husband, I’m relating hard to Oliver Cronin’s new single “7500 Miles.” It’s a romantic pop ditty that eloquently expresses the frustration of being so far from the one you love.

“I wrote ‘7500 Miles’ whilst on a writing trip in LA,” Oliver recalled. “The last two years of my life has seen my music take me all around the world. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been an absolute privilege, but I found myself missing home a lot more than I expected. I got married last year in February and then two weeks later was on tour in Europe for a month. After Europe, I went straight to LA to work on new music, which birthed this song. All I could think about was going home to my wife and so naturally that’s what we wrote about. 7500 miles is the distance between Sydney and LA. This is for anyone who has been apart from someone they love for an extended period of time; long distance isn’t easy, but it sure does make the heart grow fonder.”

“7500 Miles” comes from Oliver’s new EP Lost on the Way to Paradise, which drops on Friday, July 17. Oliver will give fans a sneaky early listen to his new tracks when he plays Urban Alley Brewery in Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong Country/Chadstone on July 4.

Oliver Cronin Ushers in New Era With “Eyes Wide Shut”

Local singer-songwriter Oliver Cronin has got me grooving with his irresistible new single, “Eyes Wide Shut.” This super catchy pop track marks a new era for Oliver’s music.

“Being the first single off my next project ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ represents a shift to a more organic, authentic and vulnerable sound,” Oliver explained. “Over the last 12 months I’ve been exploring and blurring the lines of pop and RNB, and this song is the perfect way to introduce this next sound. Lyrically, this next era is a bit of a shift to a more personal tone, focused around love and growth. With that being said we wanted ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ to kind of serve as an ‘anti-cheating’ anthem.”

Oliver is already massive online, with 1.1 million followers on TikTok and another 398,000 on Instagram. Something tells me his popularity is bound to grow as he releases more music from his next project.

Oliver Cronin Drops Fire New Single Ahead of East Coast Tour

Following a massive 2023, Oliver Cronin looks set to do it all over again with the release of his latest single “Hello Goodbye.” The release of this dark pop banger comes ahead of his very first headline tour.

“’Hello Goodbye’” is the first song I linked with Nick and Skimmy on in LA. They saw something in me in that session that I hadn’t seen in myself,” Oliver shared. “It’s a song that is sonically in this early 00s alt pop space that I never would have thought of making if I hadn’t linked up with them. In the same room we wrote ‘Hello Goodbye’, the guys wrote ‘The Nights’ with Avicii. We talked about creating something like that track that became a timeless record, and capture the feeling that song gives you. Nick and Skimmy ended up playing a pivotal part in the album, so this track was the start of that journey together.”
Oliver will play all-ages shows in the East Coast capitals next month. Tickets are still available, but don’t be surprised if they don’t last long!
